Release Notes for Partners.

This website contains an overview of all software updates published by sonnen for all sonnen batteries. This page is only designed for our partners, installers, and service partners. Customers will see their release notes in their customer portal.

Bug Fixes

  • [eco, ecoLinx]: sonnenModule2 module -based systems will now show correct individual module data (Cell voltage, cell temperatures, serial number, etc) in the dashboard.
  • [eco, ecoLinx, sonnenCore+, sonnenEvo]: customers can now view their complete system history in the portal without any data gaps in the graph.
  • [sonnenCore+, sonnenEVO]: Within cascade systems, the primary system runs in trickle charge, while the secondary systems run full charge.
  • [sonnenCore+, sonnenEVO]: The Inverter update process will now show latest status including number of retries in the commissioning assistant. [sonnenEVO]: While off grid, when SOC reaches to 90%, the systems frequency will now shift and disconnect the PV inverter.
  • [sonnenEVO]: The system will no longer unnecessarily activate a full charge in cascade systems.

Features

  • [sonnen App]: customer can see individual status of battery maintenance (i.e. trickle charge, full charge, or module balancing)
  • [sonnenCore+, sonnenEvo]: Updates global inverter firmware version to 1.12 for all countries and grid codes. Installers can update the inverter firmware directly via commissioning assistant.

 

Software Version Release Notes: 1.9.4

  • Checks in place to prevent installer key stroke mistake on PV data inputs during commissioning.
  • Checks in place to flag meter set up errors for installers during commissioning.
  • Simplified first couple of pages of commissioning assistant.
  • Fix for backup buffer being re-set after system reconnects after being disconnected.
  • Fix for certain off grid settings not recovered after system update.

 

Software Version Release notes 1.8.7

  • Dashboard 2.0:
  • In previous versions the backup buffer was displayed twice. This has now been corrected.
  • Spanish is now available as additional language.
  • API functionality:
  • New data points for requesting battery module data and inverter data were additionally implemented.
  • Application Programming Interface Version 1 will be replaced by Version 2 which is more secure and improved.
  • After the closure of RestModule1, there is a dedicated API for VPP (/api/v2/vpp) which allows access to all VPP_* configurations.
  • Cascade systems:
  • Some improvements have been made to stabilize the operation of cascaded systems in anticipation of our release of stacked systems in Q1 2023.  
  • When a cascade system was commissioned successfully and in normal operation, then all systems report the correct SOC on the dashboard, and it matches with the SOC on the battery page.
  • Pairing will not be lost between Primary and Secondary systems. Primary and Secondary systems will now have same backup-buffer level.
  • General system functionality
  • Adaption of lower and higher power limits for full charge requests for better operation of inverter and system. The new limit can be overwritten by the VPP in case more power is required.
  • The sonnenSmart-Plugs will no longer be supported. 
  • sonnenModule 3: The issue of the battery being stuck at 10% State of charge after a full discharge was detected and has been fixed.

  • Added feature to allow control of Time of Use windows through Partner Portal
  • Added feature to allow change of battery operating mode through Partner Portal
  • Fixed bug that caused battery modules to not communicate properly with internal control unit
  • Fixed bug that caused system to restart during initial startup
  • Fixed bug that caused the eclipse to incorrectly illuminate orange ("no network connection") despite working internet connection
  • Improved the BMS update process to ensure faster and more reliable updates
  • Fixed bug that would cause repeated restarting of system if critical error was identified
  • Fixed bug that caused inconsistent frequency shifting when off grid.
  • Fixed bug that caused system to charge inconsistently when on CA Rule 21 grid code.

  • Fix to prevent system from getting stuck after performing full charge for maintenance
  • Fix to maintain internet connection when operating off-grid
  • Eclipse LED doesn’t remain orange when internet is connected
  • Improvements to calculations of energy flow on dashboard when off-grid
  • Fix to system recovery issue at very low charge levels with available AC power
